The region serves as both a transit area and destination for groups fleeing conflict or seeking better opportunities. In the first eight months of 2024, UNHCR and partners conducted 3,237 interviews across Albania, Bulgaria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Kosovo*, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Romania, and Serbia to better understand the profiles, needs, and experiences of people in mixed movements. This dataset supports protection monitoring efforts and contributes to improved policy and response planning.","analysis_unit":"Household","data_kind":"Sample survey data [ssd]","notes":"The scope includes: \n- demographics \n- arrival and movement history \n- accommodation \n- access to services \n- legal and protection status \n- priority needs and onward movement drivers","nation":[{"name":"Albania","abbreviation":"ALB"},{"name":"Bosnia-Herzegovina","abbreviation":"BIH"},{"name":"Bulgaria","abbreviation":"BGR"},{"name":"Croatia","abbreviation":"HRV"},{"name":"Montenegro","abbreviation":"MNE"},{"name":"Macedonia, FYR","abbreviation":"MKD"},{"name":"Romania","abbreviation":"ROU"},{"name":"Serbia","abbreviation":"SRB"}],"keywords":[{"keyword":"Mixed movements"},{"keyword":"Protection monitoring"},{"keyword":"Migration"},{"keyword":"Asylum"},{"keyword":"Refugees"}],"topics":[{"topic":"Protection"},{"topic":"Legal Assistance"}],"coll_dates":[{"start":"2024-01-01","end":"2024-08-31"}]},"method":{"data_collection":{"sampling_procedure":"Non-probability sampling.
