Established in 2020, Alemwach hosts Eritrean refugees relocated from northern Tigray due to conflict. The survey, led by UNHCR and RRS in collaboration with government and partner organizations, aimed to assess the health, nutrition, food security, and WASH conditions of the refugee population. Using the SENS Version 3 (2018) and SMART methodology, data were collected through face-to-face interviews with households selected via simple random sampling. As of December 1, 2023, Alemwach hosted 21,557 individuals, including 1,940 children under five (9% of the population). The anonymized dataset supports evidence-based planning and targeted interventions to address the essential needs of refugees residing in Alemwach.","geog_coverage":"Alemwach Refugee Camp.","analysis_unit":"Household","universe":"Refugees and asylum seekers residing in Alemwach Refugee Camp.","data_kind":"Sample survey data [ssd]","notes":"The scope includes:\n- Demographic profile\n- Mortality\n- Anthropometric and child health indicators\n- Anaemia among children and women\n- IYCF practices\n- Food consumption and coping strategies\n- In-kind food assistance\n- Ownership and use of mosquito nets\n- Access to WASH services and hygiene products","nation":[{"name":"Ethiopia","abbreviation":"ETH"}],"keywords":[{"keyword":"SENS"},{"keyword":"Ethiopia"}],"topics":[{"topic":"Health and Nutrition"},{"topic":"Water Sanitation Hygiene"},{"topic":"Malaria Prevention and Control"}],"coll_dates":[{"start":"2023-12-11","end":"2023-12-16"}]},"method":{"data_collection":{"sampling_procedure":"A simple random sampling strategy was applied to select households within the Alemwach refugee site.
