The Bulgaria: Post-Distribution Monitoring of Cash-Based Interventions - 2025 dataset evaluates the impact of UNHCR’s cash-based interventions (CBI) in Bulgaria. Between October and December 2024, 4,225 households (9,158 individuals) received multi-purpose cash assistance (MPCA), winterization support, and education grants. Additionally, the Bulgarian Red Cross (BRC) provided cash-for-education assistance to 194 individuals. A post-distribution monitoring (PDM) survey was conducted via telephone interviews from January 16-28, 2025, with 431 randomly selected households, ensuring a 95% confidence level and a 5% margin of error. Of these, 40 were BRC beneficiaries, while 391 received support directly from UNHCR. The dataset captures household spending, financial coping strategies, and program effectiveness.

The sample was selected using a probability-based simple random sampling method, targeting households registered under Temporary or International Protection in Bulgaria who received cash assistance between October and December 2024. The sampling ensured an unbiased representation across various demographic and geographic characteristics.
A total of 431 households participated in the survey. The sample size was determined to achieve a 95% confidence level with a 5% margin of error.
To address non-response bias, replacement households were pre-identified, and follow-up attempts were conducted to maximize response rates.
Key topics covered include cash assistance utilization, demographics, expenditure patterns, satisfaction, and feedback on the assistance program.
