    Abstract

The Standardised Expanded Nutrition Survey (SENS) was conducted in Nayapara Registered Camp (RC) in Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh, as part of a broader initiative to assess the health and nutrition status of Rohingya refugees across three camps. The survey collected detailed data on demography, anthropometry and health, anaemia, infant and young child feeding (IYCF), food security, mosquito net coverage, and water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH). Mortality and key public health indicators were also assessed. Data collection took place between October and November 2021 using mobile devices with ODK software and was analysed using ENA for SMART and Epi Info 7 in alignment with SENS Version 3 guidance.

    Sampling

    Sampling Procedure

Simple random sampling was used in Nayapara RC. The sample size was calculated using ENA for SMART 2020. A non-response rate of 5.6% was assumed based on 2020 surveys. Households with COVID-19 risks were excluded following strict safety protocols.

    Weighting

Weighting was applied to calculate malnutrition prevalence across all camps. For the full combined analysis, child-level weights were computed based on under-5 population and sample ratios. This dataset includes Nayapara RC-specific results.

    Survey instrument

    Questionnaires
