    Abstract

The UNHCR Standardized Expanded Nutrition Surveys (SENS) provide regular nutrition data that plays a key role in delivering effective and timely interventions to ensure good nutritional outcomes among populations affected by forced displacement. This survey took place in Goudebou and Mentao refugee camps in December 2017. It was organized by UNHCR in close collaboration with the Ministry of Health, World Food Programme (WFP) and UN Children's Fund (UNICEF).

    Sampling Procedure

The sample size was determined based on the Standardized Monitoring and Assessment of Relief and Transition (SMART) methodology and calculated using ENA for SMART software. Each camp was treated as a strata in the sample, and the sample frame included 1762 households in Goudebo (18.7% children under five) and 1505 households in Mentao (17.9% children under five).

In Goudebo, 226 households were included in the water and sanitation and mosquito net modules,199 women in the women's module, and 455 in the children's module.
In Mentao, 236 households were included in the water and sanitation and mosquito net modules,216 women in the women's module, and 441 in the children's module.

More details are available in the report.

    Weighting

Data are weighted by refugee camp and target population: children 0-59 months, women 15-49 years and households. Design weights included in datasets (see survey_weight).
