UNHCR-WFP Joint Assessment Mission - August 2021

UNHCR and WFP organized a joint assessment mission (JAM) in Likouala and Plateaux departments in Republic of Congo in August 2021, with the participation of implementing partners, mainly CNAR, AARREC and TSF. The main objective was to conduct an assessment of the food security, nutrition and livelihoods situation and related indicators among refugees and asylum-seekers from Central African Republic (CAR) and asylum-seekers from Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC).

The survey was conducted at two levels: household and individual. The household-level survey consisted of questions focused on food security and livelihoods. The individual-level surveys consisted of questions on food security, nutrition and health status of children under five years old and women of childbearing age. Interviews were conducted face-to-face with household members. A total of 2,342 households were surveyed as well as 830 women of child-bearing age and 1,933 children for vaccination questions, 697 for breastfeeding questions and 528 for food consumption questions.
