UNHCR Peru undertakes flow monitoring of Venezuelan refugees and migrants to analyze their movement dynamics at the border, their protection needs and vulnerabilities.
For the most part, families in transit are walking or asking for hitchhiking and crossing the borders using irregular routes, which increases protection risks along the way. The analysis of this information contributes to the design of responses to mitigate these protection risks.
The results are not statistically representative and should be considered as a general indicator of the trends.
