Abstract |
This study analyzes the drivers of financial inclusion and social integration and estimates the respective gender gap among households in Kakuma Refugee Camp, Kenya. Using 2019 socio-economic survey data, it constructs indices of financial inclusion and social integration. Factors such as earning wages, asset accumulation, food security, social capital, education, and access to information were found to significantly affect outcomes. Women were found to be more financially included than men. Policy recommendations include promoting gender-inclusive strategies and improving access to information and financial services. |
