    Abstract

The Post-Return Monitoring (PRM) Survey Round 3 was conducted by UNHCR in 2025 to assess the well-being, protection situation, and reintegration experiences of Afghan refugee returnees from Pakistan and Iran. The survey targeted returnee households who received UNHCR assistance upon return.
The PRM Round 3 collected data across key thematic areas including protection, basic needs and services, shelter, livelihoods and income generation, food security, health, mental health, education, WASH, and connectivity. The survey was designed to generate nationally representative insights.
Findings from the survey contribute to UNHCR protection monitoring, program planning, and evidence-based advocacy. The data supports analysis of reintegration trends, identification of priority needs and risks, and the development of interventions aimed at promoting sustainable reintegration and longer-term solutions for returnees in Afghanistan.
